Thread Choices

Sculptured Thread Quilting offers four different types of thread available in dozens of different high quality colors. If you don't see the color you want here, just contact me, and I will let you know if I can get it for you.

  Signature Regular Cotton Thread
(Included in the price of quilting.)
This product is designed specially for machine quilters. Made from 100% long staple cotton, it is 3 ply, ct 42 thread, with a tex rating of 40. It will fill the needs of those who want 100% cotton with enough tensile strength to stand up to the demands of quilting machines' high speed, multi-directional sewing. Mercerizing yields benefits including smoother thread, higher sheen, less fuzz and lint, and improved sewability. Click on link to view our color chart.

Signature Cotton Wrapped Polyester Machine Quilting Thread
(Included in the price of quilting.)
A superb quality cotton wrapped polyester core product designed for use on both large quilting machines and home sewing machines. The polyester thread provides strength while the cotton thread covering offers the same soft feel as your cotton fabric. Click on link to view our color chart.

Signature Variegated Cotton Thread
(Thread charges are calculated based on the size of your quilt and the complexity of the design.)
Identical to the regular cotton thread above, this product is also made from 100% long staple cotton. It is 3 ply, ct 42 thread, with a tex rating of 40. The only difference is that unlike the solid color choices with our regular thread the variegated choices combine beautiful color palettes to create the color changes. King Tut Variegated Cotton Thread
(Thread charges are calculated based on the size of your quilt and the complexity of the design.)
Made from the cream of the crop cotton in Egypt, King Tut Quilting Thread is 100% Extra Long Staple (ELS) Egyptian cotton. Only a small percentage of Egyptian cotton is classified as Extra long Staple. The staple fibers are 10% longer than Long Staple cotton which means less lint and extra strength. There are sixteen beautiful variegated colors each with a one and a half inch color-change interval, meaning the colors will flow through your quilt. King Tut Quilting Thread has the least lint and is the strongest of any cotton thread. I guarantee you will love this smooth thread. Click on link to view our color chart.
